HPD Rx ONE Ingredients

A high-potency multivitamin appropriate for both women and men, HPD Rx ONE is designed to shore up your immune defenses from the inside out and support your reproductive health.* It goes beyond regular multivitamins by including immune-boosting phyto-nutrients to help keep you well — even in the face of immune challenges.*

Vitamin A & Carotenoids
A meta-analysis of 15 studies (1) including over 12,000 study participants demonstrated that vitamin A may protect healthy cervical cells. Adequate levels of carotenoids also seem to play a role in maintaining cervical health (2).

Vitamin C
According to a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology (3), supplementing with vitamin C may help support cervical health.* Currently, the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for vitamin C is 75 mg/day for women and 90 mg/day for men over the age of 19 (4). Yet the study notes that approximately 35% of American women in their reproductive years consume less than 30 mg of vitamin C daily, and 68% less than 88 mg.

One serving of HPD Rx ONE contains 200 mg of vitamin C in each capsule, which is equal to the amount you’d typically find in about 2 cups of fresh, sliced strawberries, 2 cups of cooked broccoli or 3 and a half cups of sweet, raw green pepper (5).

Found in small amounts primarily in the liver, bones, pancreas, and kidneys, dietary manganese is an essential mineral that performs several functions in the human body. It is incorporated into the antioxidant enzyme manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), which the body needs to fight off immune threats (6).

Selenium also belongs to the category of essential minerals and is known for its antioxidant capabilities.* Recommended daily intake of selenium is 55 mcg for both adult men and women (7).* Long-term selenium supplementation has been shown to have beneficial effects on cervical tissues (8). Brazil nuts, cooked halibut, tuna, and canned sardines are excellent sources of selenium.

Chromium is an essential mineral that is found in trace amounts in plants and is typically consumed through diet. Chromium enhances the action of insulin, which is why many people use chromium to balance their blood sugar.* Interestingly, people with blood sugar issues may have weaker immune defenses, making getting adequate chromium even more important for this population when they are fighting an immune challenge (9).

The recommended daily amount is 25 mcg for women and 35 mcg for men (10). Examples of good dietary sources of chromium are broccoli, potatoes, basil, and beef.

Copper is an essential trace mineral that is involved in various processes in the body. It plays an important role in maintaining a healthy immune system (11). Copper deficiency has been shown to impair the immunological function of a type of white blood cell called macrophages (12).* While frank copper deficiency is uncommon, only a quarter of Americans get enough each day (13)(14). Each HPD Rx ONE serving contains 2 mg of copper. Organ meats like liver are rich sources of this essential mineral.

Vitamin D3
Vitamin D, often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” is essential for overall health. Yet, with 42% of the Americans deficient in vitamin D (15), we are facing a real epidemic. Optimizing your vitamin D level is important not only to have strong bones, but it may also support your heart, strengthen your immunity, boost your mood, and protect your cells (16).* One daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 2,000 IU of vitamin D3.

Molybdenum is one of the essential minerals that the human body needs to function. Its main responsibilities are to produce energy, protect our cells, and assist with waste removal.* Without sufficient amounts of molybdenum, harmful toxins and sulfites would accumulate in our body.

Biotin, a member of the B-complex vitamins, is an essential nutrient that is indispensable for optimum human health.* Optimum biotin levels support a healthy immune system as it affects the functions of adaptive immune T and natural killer cells (17). Scientist suggest that 30 mcg of biotin daily is an adequate amount for adults. A daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 30 mcg of biotin (18).

Vitamin E
Research has shown that vitamin E has strong protective and antioxidant properties (19)HPD Rx ONE contains 100 IU of vitamin E. Dietary sources include dry roasted almonds, sunflower seeds, boiled spinach, and broccoli.

Boron is an essential mineral that plays a role in various biological processes. Growing scientific evidence suggests that it is important for immune function and cervical health (20). In fact, women who live in regions with boron-rich soil enjoy better cervical health than women who don’t (21). Boron can be found in fruits, veggies, and nuts, with raisins, almonds, hazelnuts, and dried apricots being some of the best sources.

Choline plays many complex functions in the human body, including preserving the structure of cell membranes.* While it is naturally present in certain foods, meeting the recommended intake requirements can be challenging. This is partially due to the fact that genetic variations between individuals seems to affect choline requirements (22). A single daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 100 mg of choline.

Vitamin K1
Vitamin K1 belongs to a group of fat-soluble vitamins. It plays a role in multiple areas of health, such as blood coagulation and cardiovascular and bone health.* Some of the best dietary sources of vitamin K1 are spinach, kale, and broccoli. It is quite difficult to obtain the recommended amount of vitamin K1 from diet alone, which is why many people choose to increase their intake through supplementation. The recommended intake of vitamin K is 120 mcg/day for adult men and 90 mcg/day for adult women (23). A daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 100 mcg of vitamin K1.

Vanadium is a trace mineral that is naturally occurring in certain foods, such as mushrooms, shellfish, black pepper, and parsley. In a 2014 in vitro (test tube) study published in the Journal of Life Sciences (24), vanadium complexes showed potential for protecting the integrity of cervical cells.* While this research was preliminary human studies need to be conducted to confirm the findings — it’s still very excitingHPD Rx ONE contains 10 mcg of vanadium in each daily serving.

Unlike what most people believe, calcium is not only important for strong bones, but it plays a central role in the activation of immune system cells as well (25). Some studies suggest that calcium, when taken alongside with vitamin D, may even support healthy cell division (26).

Riboflavin, or vitamin B2, is a water-soluble vitamin that is primarily used by the body to turn fats, protein, and carbohydrates into glucose for energy.* Besides its energy-producing effect, riboflavin acts as an antioxidant, supports proper functioning of the immune system (27), and may safeguard the cervix (28).*

Thiamine, or vitamin B1, is one of the essential B vitamins responsible for a number of functions throughout the body. It helps convert food into energy while supporting the brain and nervous system (29).* Along with riboflavin and vitamin B12, thiamine may have a protective effect on cervical health (30).*

Globally, approximately 2 billion people are iodine deficient (31). This is a huge concern as iodine deficiency can lead to a number of serious health concerns.* Iodine plays a crucial role in thyroid hormone production.* In addition to regulating metabolism, thyroid hormones influence the function of the immune system as well as the ability of immune system cells to clear immune threats from the body (32).*

Niacin, or vitamin B3, is a member of the B vitamin complex. Its functions in the body include converting food into energy, repairing DNA, and playing a role in cell signaling (33).* Adequate intake of niacin is essential, but taking megadoses should be avoided.

Green Tea Extract
Green tea is one of the most popular varieties of tea in the world with a multitude of documented health benefits.* Green tea extract is a powdered, concentrated version of the tea and provides the same benefits. Green tea extract is an incredibly rich source of antioxidants that have been found to fight free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress (34).* One intriguing small study found that 200 mg of EGCG, an extract of green tea, had a pronounced protective effect on the cervix, with 6 out of 10 women experiencing a benefit (35).* This is the exact amount of EGCG provided in a daily dose of HPD Rx ONE.

Magnesium is a mineral that is abundant in the body. It regulates diverse biochemical reactions in the body and participates in both the innate (born with) and adaptive (acquired over time) immune system(36).* Maintaining adequate amounts of magnesium is crucial as magnesium participates in over 300 enzyme systems in the body.

Pantothenic acid
Pantothenic acid, or vitamin B5, is an essential nutrient that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement. It helps produce energy by breaking down fats and carbohydrates.* While they are very rare in the United States, deficiencies in pantothenic acid can weaken the body’s immune response (37). *

A naturally occurring phytonutrient found in tomatoes, lycopene is an antioxidant with many health benefits. These include protection from sun, improved heart health, and vibrant cellular health.* Lycopene has been studied extensively. One intriguing epidemiological study among low-income women found that having high levels of lycopene in the blood is associated with better cervical health (38).

Zinc has been shown to play a central role in immunity. Having adequate levels of zinc in the body increases your chances of maintaining cervical health (39).*

Vitamin B6
Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in over 100 biochemical processes. Researchers have found a link between adequate levels of vitamin B6 and healthy cell division within the body (40).*

Mushrooms contain effective all-natural immune boosters.* Long-chain polysaccharides, particularly alpha- and beta-glucan molecules, are primarily responsible for the mushrooms' beneficial effect on the immune system.*

Iron is an essential nutrient with critical functions in many cellular processes.* It plays a vital role in immune cell proliferation and maturation (41).*

There are a handful of nutrients that are especially important to cervical health, and folate — a member of the B vitamin group — is one of them.* Research suggests that maintaining adequate folate levels is associated with better cervical health outcomes (42).*

DIM (Diindolylmethane) is made in the body from a chemical called indole-3-carbinol, which is found in cruciferous vegetables such as cauliflower and broccoli.
